‘Lady in Red’ alludes to the 2020 Myanmar general election of the pre-military coup period. Before that painting, there weren’t any art works of mine which are derived from pure political concepts. During the 2020 election, this painting was created to raise the tempo of competition and to show personal support ; it was directly given to ‘Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’.
NLD won the election, fair and square with a colossal number of votes. After two months of victory, the military coup happened. Thereafter,‘Lady in Red’ became more meaningful compared to when it existed before the coup.
Lady in Red’ began to express more in depth meaning and concepts as the lady depicted in the painting, is walking barefoot on a path of thorns which is comparable to reality and the fate of Myanmar and the Lady nowadays.
